Picture shows lead singer Francis Rossi (left) and bass player Alan Lancaster (right)
***Note to Editors....The venue is not confirmed but these pictures are Scottish Daily Record pictures, and Status Quo played The Apollo Theatre, Glasgow, 18th March 1981. So it is possible that it may indeed by this concert.
Status Quo in 1981 were Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, bass player Alan Lancaster and drummer John Coghlan.
Sometime in 1981 John Coghlan left and was replaced by Pete Kircher. It is possible that John Coghlan is the drummer in these pictures, where the drummer is just visible, but again, approach with some caution.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Status Quo, the iconic English rock band, electrifying the stage in 1981. This print captures lead singer Francis Rossi (left) and bass player Alan Lancaster (right) exuding their signature energy and passion. Although the venue remains unconfirmed, these Scottish Daily Record pictures strongly suggest that it may be from their legendary performance at The Apollo Theatre in Glasgow on March 18th, 1981. During this era, Status Quo consisted of Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster on bass guitar, and John Coghlan on drums. However, sometime later in 1981, Coghlan departed from the band and was replaced by Pete Kircher. It is worth noting that these pictures might feature Coghlan as the drummer since he can be faintly seen in one of them; yet caution should be exercised when making assumptions. Taken around March 19th of that year—according to estimates—the photograph encapsulates an era defined by its vibrant music scene. With their Telecaster guitars blazing and a relentless rhythm section driving their sound forward, Status Quo delivered a memorable performance filled with infectious pop-rock melodies that resonated with fans across Scotland. This remarkable image serves as a nostalgic reminder of Status Quo's influential presence during the 1980s—a testament to their enduring legacy within British rock history.
