The Temple of Saturn, one of the oldest and most significant temples in the Roman Republic, is depicted here as viewed from the adjacent Basilica Julia. Dedicated to the god Saturn, the temple was believed to house the Palladium, a sacred statue of the goddess Palladium that was said to protect Rome. The temple's ancient ruins, with their towering pillars and intricately carved columns, stand in stark contrast to the modern world that has long since passed.
