Table turning, also known as planchette writing or spirit rapping, was a popular form of spiritualist mediumship during the 19th century. In this practice, a table, often with legs bound together, would supposedly move and communicate messages from the spirit world through raps or movements. Agenor de Gasparin (1811-1891) was a prominent figure in the European spiritualist movement, known for his extensive knowledge of various occult practices.
