The end of Arab rule in Spain was a turning point in European history, marking the completion of the Reconquista - the long-lasting Christian reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula from the Moors. Boabdil, a Moorish monarch, ruled over the last Muslim kingdom in Spain, Granada, which had been under Muslim rule since 711 AD.
