Vouet quickly gained a reputation as a talented painter, and was soon commissioned by King Louis XIII and Queen Marie de' Medici to create a series of large-scale history paintings for the Galerie des Ambassadeurs at the Palace of Fontainebleau. Throughout his career, Vouet produced a diverse range of works, including portraits, landscapes, and religious and mythological scenes.
