Azorina vidalii: A Rare Beauty on the Brink of Extinction This handcoloured lithograph showcases the enchanting Azorina vidalii, a critically endangered plant belonging to the Campanulaceae family. The image is taken from the seminal work "Flore des Serres et des Jardins de l Europe" (Flowers of the Gardens and Hothouses of Europe) by renowned Belgian botanists Louis van Houtte and Charles Lemaire, published in Ghent in 1851. The Azorina vidalii, also known as Campanula vidalii, is native to the Azores, a volcanic archipelago located in the North Atlantic Ocean.
