Edmee Dormeuil, French actress and star of The Better Ole, the musical play based on the cartoons of Bruce Bairnsfather in The Bystander. She played the part of the heroine, a vivandiere who loves Old Bill (the central character) and who eventually gives evidence that turns him from traitor to hero. The play, written by Bruce Bairnsfather and Arthur Eliot enjoyed a terrific run at the Oxford Theatre, London. In 1918, she appeared in an Andre Charlot produced revue at the Comedy Theatre.
