EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases an old lithograph of butterflies, a true antique illustration that has now entered the public domain. With great care and digital restoration, this artwork has been preserved from my personal archives. In this stunning composition, we are treated to a visual feast of various butterfly species in different stages of their life cycles. The Pine hawk-moth takes center stage, displaying its delicate eggs alongside a vibrant caterpillar and pupa. Nearby, the Morpho deidamia (or Morpho Neoptolemos) flaunts its iridescent wings with grace. The White dragontail adds an ethereal touch to the scene as it gracefully perches on a leaf. Meanwhile, the Pale tussock reveals both its cocoon and caterpillar form for our admiration. The Hornet clearwing flutters by in all its transparent glory while the Lackey caterpillar makes itself known with striking patterns. Two male specimens make an appearance: the Pale tussock proudly displays its furry physique while the Lackey exudes elegance with intricate markings on its wings. A Garden tiger moth steals attention as it poses alongside one of nature's wonders - a caterpillar. Lastly, we witness the Black-veined white showcasing not only its pupa but also a charming little caterpillar beside it. And let us not forget about the Birdwing butterfly which graces us with both beauty and curiosity through its presence alongside another mesmerizing caterpillar. This extraordinary collection of butterfly illustrations is truly enchanting; each specimen
