In the opening fixture of the 2015-16 Premier League season, Arsenal traveled to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace. The Gunners were looking to start their campaign with a win, while Palace aimed to cause an upset. The game was evenly poised until the 31st minute, when an unexpected moment of brilliance from Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez turned the match on its head. As a Palace defender attempted to clear a cross from the left, Sanchez leapt into the air to challenge for the ball. With his back to goal and his focus on the aerial duel, the Chilean international inadvertently sent a glancing header towards the Crystal Palace goal. The Palace defense was caught napping, and Damien Delaney could only watch in horror as the ball sailed into the net, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead.
