Horatio Bottomley (1860 - 1933) was a British financier, newspaper proprietor and MP; he was also gaoled for fraud. During World War One he was a patriotic supporter of the war, aggressively advocating the unconditional surrender of Germany and a march on Berlin. He encouraged servicemen to send their grievances to his journal John Bull, and was an influential popular orator. Date: 13th September 1917
