CHELSEA AND WESTMINSTER HOSPITAL, FULHAM ROAD, KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA, GREATER LONDON. Kenneth Clarke, Secretary of State for Health, posed beside the foundation stone for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital with senior staff involved in the project
Laing Management Contracting worked on the construction of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on behalf of the North West Thames Regional Health Authority between 1989 and 1993. The new teaching hospital was built on the site of the old St Stephens Hospital, which was demolished in the early months of 1989. The use of fast track construction techniques enabled the entire project to be completed in less than 5 years. The hospital was officially opened by the Queen on 13 May 1993
