Remember when Stockton Venture Scouts took on all comers in an eight-mile paddle along the river? The Skelton Beakers Club members, Graham Appleyard, Ann Scott, and Barry Smith were ready to conquer any challenge. And who can forget the fearless Knickerless Wonders 5-a-side Women's football team from Teesside back in 1973? Circa 1972 at Hintons Supermarket in Whitehouse Farm, Bishopton Road, Stockton-on-Tees was a bustling hub of activity. Meanwhile, David Nicholson proudly showcased his CB Radio rig and license as a true enthusiast. Samantha Bunnell and her friend Jillian Carnell also tried their hand at using a CB Radio. The PS John H Amos paddlewheel tugboat made its way down the river with grace and elegance. The Stockton and District Schools football squad showed their gratitude by turning out in style for those who supported them. The cup-winning Blakeston Comprehensive School team had been together for years, celebrating their victories both on and off the field. Highland Cattle grazed peacefully at Stewart Park in Marton while visitors admired the beautiful conservatory on a sunny day in March 1978. In an unforgettable match against Salford, Middlesbrough schoolboys triumphed with a resounding 5-2 victory in the English Schools Trophy competition. These moments captured our hearts and remind us of cherished memories from our past.
