The keel-billed toucan, also known as the rainbow-billed toucan, is a magnificent bird that never fails to capture attention with its vibrant colors and unique beak. With its striking appearance, it stands out among the lush greenery of its natural habitat. One such sighting took place at Summit Botanical Gardens and Zoo, where an RF keel-billed toucan was perched gracefully on a mossy branch. Its colorful feathers contrasted beautifully against the earthy tones of the surroundings. Another encounter occurred at Macaw Mountain Bird Park, where another keel-billed toucan showcased its mesmerizing plumage. This time, it was seen feeding on fruit while perched in a trumpet tree along the Caribbean slope of Guatemala. In Calakmul Biosphere Reserve UNESCO Site in Campeche, Mexico, yet another keel-billed toucan was spotted with fruit in its beak. It seemed to relish every bite as it tossed fruit seeds into the air. Captivatingly photographed by Cathy & Gordon Illg in Costa Rica's Central America region, a captive keel-billed toucan revealed intricate details up close.
