Amidst this eclectic mix of scenes emerged Dr. A Ortman of South Dakota—a chiropractor offering relief from physical burdens—reminding them that even during moments of anticipation or distress, there were healers among us ready to ease our pain. Finally came British stretcher cases from Salonika during WW1—an image etched into collective memory forevermore—a testament to resilience amidst chaos and proof that hope can be found even when awaiting salvation itself.
