Alexandrina Victoria, better known as Queen Victoria, was a prominent figure in British history. Born in 1819, she ascended to the throne in 1837 at the young age of 18. Throughout her reign, which lasted for over six decades until her death in 1901, Queen Victoria witnessed and played a significant role in shaping the Victorian era. One notable portrait of Queen Victoria was painted by Thomas Sully in 1838. This painting captures her regal presence and youthful charm during the early years of her reign. Another image showcases The Queens Visit To Her Birthplace outside St. Mary's Church in Kensington around 1897, and is evident that even after so many years on the throne, she maintained a strong connection to her roots. In addition to being an influential monarch, Queen Victoria also had a keen interest in fashion and style. She received a magnificent Char-a-banc from the King of France as a gift in 1844. This extravagant carriage reflected both her status as queen and the close diplomatic ties between Britain and France. Queen Victoria's love for art and culture is well-documented throughout history. She was often seen attending various musical performances such as Lohengrin at Windsor Castle on her eightieth birthday or hosting grand events like the Georgian Costume Ball at Buckingham Palace. The queen's personal life was not devoid of joyous occasions either; one such event captured on camera is The Marriage of Princess Louise with Marquis of Lorne in 1871. These moments showcased not only royal celebrations but also highlighted family bonds within royalty. As an avid patroness of architecture, Queen Victoria inaugurated several iconic landmarks during her rule including Kensington Palace where she resided for much of her life or Royal Albert Hall opened by herself on March 29th, 1871. The Crystal Palace exhibition held at Hyde Park holds special significance too since it symbolized Britain's industrial prowess during the Great Exhibition of 1851.
