Swindon Works employee Jayne Clarke is the subject of this stylish photograph. Jayne started at the Works upon leaving school and worked her way up to the position of supervisor. She is photographed here in 1973 in the cab of diesel locomotive No.1023 Western Fusilier. The locomotive was the last Western diesel to be repaired at Swindon Works and Jayne featured in a series of glamorous photographs commemorating this event.
