Framed Print of Tesla Tower, 1919

An artist's projection of what the finished Tesla Tower would have looked like from the magazine "Electrical Experimenter" 1919. Tesla Tower (1901-17) was an early wireless transmission tower designed by Tesla in Shoreham, New York and intended for commercial trans-Atlantic wireless telephony, broadcasting, and proof-of-concept demonstrations of wireless power transmission. The tower was 187 feet high and the spherical top was 68 feet in diameter, but it was never completed nor fully operational. Nikola Tesla (July 10, 1856 - January 7, 1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, mechanical engineer, and electrical engineer. He was an important contributor to the use of commercial electricity, and is best known for developing the modern alternating current (AC) electrical supply system. © New York Public Library / Science Source
