Framed Print of North Berwick, LNER poster, 1923

Poster produced for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to the seaside resort of North Berwick on the east coast of Scotland. The poster shows a young woman in a bathing costume, pouring tea from a thermos flask into cups, for herself and two companions, who are shown reclining on the sand. The man has a bag of golf clubs by his side. Artwork by Frank Newbould (1887-1951), who studied at Bradford College of Art and joined the War Office in 1942. He also designed posters for the Orient Line and Belgian Railways. Dimensions: 1016 mm x 1270 mm. National Railway Museum is the home of iconic locomotives.
