Step back in time to the roaring twenties and join us for a lighthearted look at some of the most unusual golfing inventions that graced the fairways. In this charming cartoon from the Illustrated London News, published in March 1922, we see golfers embracing the latest trends in golfing attire and equipment. On the hillside, a golfer dons an elaborate pair of putting trousers, complete with built-in pockets for his clubs. The peculiar design allows him to keep his hands free for a more natural swing, but the bulky garment may hinder his agility on the green. Another golfer in the foreground is seen wearing golf braces, a fashionable accessory that promises to keep his socks up and his game on point. However, the inventive contraption seems to have a mind of its own, causing the golfer to teeter precariously as he attempts to address the ball. Meanwhile, a third golfer, seated in a quirky golf cart, showcases an unusual putting aid.
