This evocative photograph captures the charming facade of the Silver End Hotel in Silver End, Essex, as it stood proudly before its unfortunate fate. The image, taken by an unknown photographer, showcases the pub's quintessential English character with its red brick exterior, ornate woodwork, and inviting front door. The pub, which was not part of the Charrington and Company Limited, was a beloved local watering hole and gathering place for the community. The back of the print reveals the trading record for the Silver End Hotel, detailing its operation from 1933 to 1962. The history of this pub stretches back over eighty years, making it an integral part of the Silver End community. Sadly, as of July 2018, this historic building was no more, having been destroyed by fire. The Silver End Hotel was more than just a public house or bar; it was a place where friends met, stories were shared, and memories were made. This photograph is a poignant reminder of the pub's rich history and the sense of community it once fostered.
