Mrazek, born in 1878, was a humble housewife from Liège, Belgium, who suddenly began exhibiting signs of a dual personality. She would alternate between her given name, Bertha, and the name Georges Marasco. During her alter ego's episodes, she would speak in a deep, masculine voice and display the stigmata. The first instance of her stigmata occurred in 1922, and they continued to appear intermittently until her death in 1941.
