The cathedral was built in 1883-1907 in memory of the fact that on this site as a result of the assassination attempt, Emperor Alexander II was mortally wounded (the expression on the blood indicates the king's blood). The project is made in the Russian style, somewhat reminiscent of the Moscow Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed. The photo was taken from the embankment of the Griboedov Canal. Winter and night view
