Framed Print of Portrait of Werner von Siemens by Giacomo Brogi

Portrait of Werner von Siemens by Giacomo Brogi, presumably around 1890, Berlin, Germany Werner von Siemens 13/12/1816, Lenthe - 6/1892, Berlin) was an important inventor and industrialist. Today, Siemens, named after him, is a globally active joint-stock company and one of the largest corporations in Germany. Werner von Siemens laid the foundation for this with the dynamoelectric principle he discovered and is therefore considered the founder of modern electrical and power technology. In addition to this groundbreaking invention, countless others followed, such as the ozone tube or a process for insulating power lines, which continues to shape the production of these cables today. Werner von Siemens also built the first telegraph line from Frankfurt to Berlin with his business partner Johann Halske. Further innovative projects followed. Siemens built the first electric locomotive in 1879 and the first electric street lighting in Berlin in 1880 the first electric lift followed by the first.
