BESK. Binary Electronic Sequence Calculator. Sweden's first electronic computer. It was developed by the Swedish board for computing machinery and for a short time ti was the fastest computer in the world. BESK was completed in 1953 and in use until 1966. It was used by the swedsih meteorological institute and military aircraft manufacturer SAAB, for secret calculations. In 1960 BESK was used to create an animation of a car driving down a planned highway from the driver's perspective. This was one of the earliest computer animations ever made. Sweden 1953 ref CV67-5
