Der Berg der Kreuze (litauisch: Kryzių kalnas) ist eine weltweit bekannte Statte nahe Šiauliai, Litauen. Er ist sowohl ein historisches Denkmal als auch eine bedeutende touristische Attraktion. Auf diesem Hugel befinden sich zehntausende Kreuze, Kruzifixe und Marienfiguren, die von Besuchern und Pilgern uber Generationen hinweg dort platziert wurden. Die Entstehung des Ortes wird auf das 19. Jahrhundert zuruckgefuhrt, als er als Gedenkstatte fur die Opfer von Aufstanden gegen die zaristische Herrschaft diente. Besondere historische Bedeutung erlangte der Berg der Kreuze wahrend der sowjetischen Besatzungszeit. Trotz wiederholter Zerstorungsversuche durch die sowjetischen Behorden - bei denen der Berg planiert und die Kreuze entfernt wurden - errichtete die litauische Bevolkerung immer wieder neue Kreuze. Heute zieht der Berg der Kreuze jahrlich zahlreiche Besucher aus aller Welt an, Litauen
