Framed Print of Fencing Class

18th June 1955: Older pupils at the Glasgow High School for Girls learn the elegant art of fencing with the maitre d'armes, Donald Stewart. Garnethill Public School became the Glasgow High School for Girls in 1898 and has gained an excellent reputation for producing successful graduates. Under the current headmistress, Miss Frances Barker, girls have been encouraged to take up fencing to build character and attend practical home economics lessons, such as dressmaking and cookery. The girls also study a wide range of traditional subjects and have their say in the running of the school at a weekly meeting of the teachers and prefects. Unleash your creativity with premium art prints that turn any room into a visual masterpiece.
