EDITORS COMMENTS
Great moment captured in this photograph as Jose Reyes scores the only goal in Arsenal's hard-fought victory over Charlton Athletic at The Valley on December 26,2005, in the FA Premiership season of 2005-06. The Spanish international forward, then in his second season with the Gunners, outmaneuvers Charlton's Norwegian goalkeeper Thomas Myhre with a clever finish after a brilliant team move. Reyes' goal was a crucial one, as Arsenal were facing a determined Charlton side that had given them a tough time throughout the match. The goal secured all three points for Arsenal and kept them in the hunt for the league title, as they finished the season as runners-up, just one point behind Chelsea. The atmosphere at The Valley was electric, with the home fans creating a cacophony of noise in an attempt to spur their team on. But Reyes' goal silenced the crowd and sent the Arsenal supporters into raptures. This photograph is a reminder of a pivotal moment in Arsenal's season and a testament to the skill and determination of Jose Reyes, who played a key role in Arsene Wenger's team that season.
