From left to right, the monitors Hydra, Glatton, Cyclops, Gorgon, and Hecate were all part of the Royal Navy's Coastal Defense Fleet, which saw active service during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These monitors, which were designed to protect against torpedo attacks and minefields, were an essential component of the British naval forces during a time of great geopolitical tension.
