The Rev C V Camplin Cogan, Vicar of St Gabriels Church, North Acton, wishes to sell his house, which is believed reliable authority to be haunted.
A monk is said to be buried under the Tudor the pavement near a front room window, and it is he who is believed to haunt the house.
Though the vicar himself is sceptical, Mrs Camplin Cogan maintains that she has often heard his footsteps paddling up and down the front hall and staircase. The house was once the residence of Richard Cromwell, son of Oliver Cromwell, and the ground round it is honey cones with underground passages.
There are two dungeons in the building.
