Originally established in 1871, this remarkable institution played a vital role in providing medical care to the community of Swindon and its surrounding villages. The central part of the building, seen prominently in the photograph, was once home to the XI Wiltshire Volunteer Rifle Corps armoury. However, it underwent a transformation and became an essential space within the hospital premises.
