In the chilly November air of Damler Stadium in Stuttgart, Germany, on the 26th of 2003, a pivotal moment in Rangers Football Club's European journey unfolded. The Scottish giants faced off against VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Cup group stage, with both teams eager to secure valuable points in their quest for advancement. Alex McLeish, the Rangers manager, led his squad onto the pristine pitch, determined to secure a positive result against their formidable opponents. The atmosphere was electric, with the passionate Stuttgart supporters creating a cacophony of noise that reverberated around the stadium. Despite Rangers' best efforts, it was Stuttgart who struck first. In the 35th minute, a brilliant team move culminated in a goal by a Stuttgart player. The Rangers defense was caught napping, and the German side capitalized on the opportunity. The ball found its way into the back of the net, leaving the Rangers players crestfallen.
