EDITORS COMMENTS
Caption: "The 28th November marks Independence Day in Albania, a significant day that commemorates the country's liberation from Turkish rule. This historic print captures the momentous occasion that took place 32 years ago. On this day, the Albanian people not only celebrated their independence but also rejoiced in their freedom from German control. The image showcases the vibrant festivities held in Tirana, Albania's capital city. The parade featured the impressive march of the 1st Corps of Partisans through a newly constructed part of Tirana by Italian architects. As a symbol of international solidarity and support, military representatives from Russia, Britain, America, and Yugoslavia were present at the saluting base. In this photograph, Colonel General Never Hoxna can be seen addressing the crowd during these joyous celebrations. The atmosphere is filled with pride and gratitude as Albanians reflect on their hard-fought journey towards self-determination. This vintage print offers us a glimpse into an important chapter in Albania's history during World War II when brave partisans fought for their nation's sovereignty alongside Allied forces such as RAF (Royal Air Force). Preserved by Memory Lane Prints, it serves as a powerful reminder of resilience and unity amidst challenging times. "
