Franz Ritter von Epp, hailing from Munich, served as a regular officer in the Imperial German Army, attaining the rank of Major General. His military career spanned several decades, and he played a notable role in the Bavarian military during the First World War. After the war, he became involved in right-wing politics, joining the German Workers' Party, which later evolved into the Nazi Party. Sven Hedin, on the other hand, was a celebrated Swedish explorer and geographer, best known for his extensive travels in Central Asia. He led numerous expeditions, and his most notable achievements include mapping large parts of Central Asia and discovering several ancient cities.
