In this historic photograph, Princess Elizabeth (later to become Queen Elizabeth II) and her new husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, depart from Buckingham Palace in an open carriage on the day of their honeymoon following their fairytale wedding on November 20, 1947. The young couple, who met during World War II, exude joy and excitement as they wave to the cheering crowds.
