This stunning 18th-century print showcases the breathtaking beauty of the Canna-leaved Strelitzia Reginae, also known as the Bird of Paradise flower. The Strelitzia Reginae, native to South Africa, was first discovered in 1770 by a Swedish botanist, Carl Peter Thunberg. It was named in honor of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the wife of King George III of England, who was an avid gardener and patron of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
