It was first re-designated as a B-10A after initial testing, then further upgraded to the B-10M standard. Despite its advancements, the B-10M met a tragic end on July 18, 1942, when it crashed at Slaughter, Nebraska. The exact cause of the accident remains unclear, but the loss of this aircraft marked the end of the B-10 series in the United States Army Air Service.
