The Temple, located at the intersection of Via del Foro and Via della Fortuna, is a remarkable ancient Roman structure dedicated to the goddess Fortuna, the goddess of fortune and prosperity. The Temple of Fortuna Augusta was built during the reign of Caesar Augustus in the 1st century AD and is considered one of the most well-preserved temples in Pompeii. The image, taken from Antonio Niccolini's "Pompeii: Views and Restorations" (Pompeii: Essaies et Restaurations), published by Autoriello & De Luca in Naples in 1898, was created by the skilled hand of G. Autoriello.
