The Snapdragon, also known as Le Mufle de Lyon in French, is a beloved flower in both Chinese and European gardens. The intricate details of the Snapdragon's vibrant, tubular blooms are beautifully rendered in this work of art. The etching showcases the flower's distinctive, two-lipped, red and yellow blossoms, which resemble the faces of dragons or snarling canines, hence the common name.
