This print depicts the monument of Sir Edward Wynter, who passed away in 1685, located on the south wall of St Mary's Church in Battersea. The monument is a stunning example of Baroque architecture, featuring a bust of Sir Edward atop a pedestal, surrounded by cherubs and intricately designed drapes. The central scene showcases Sir Edward in battle, subduing a fierce tiger, demonstrating his bravery and strength. The monument also includes depictions of him in his role as a Governor of the Savoy Palace Hospital in London, symbolized by the Moors at his feet.
