This hand-colored copperplate engraving, created by Giarre and Stanghi for Giulio Ferrario's Costumes Ancient and Modern of the Peoples of the World, published in Florence in 1847, showcases two prominent figures of the Middle Ages: King Richard the Lionheart and Thomas Earl of Lancaster.
