The Engine Depot was a crucial component of The Aircraft Disposal Company Ltd., which was established to manage the vast stockpile of over 10,000 aircraft, 35,000 aero-engines, and an immense quantity of spares that the British Government had amassed at the war's end. The company, in its mission to sell off these surplus assets at significantly reduced prices, found itself at the heart of a burgeoning aviation industry. This image, taken from an original large-format brochure entitled 'The Wings of Commerce,' offers a glimpse into the scale and complexity of the operation. The Engine Depot serves as a testament to the sheer volume of machinery that was available for sale.
