Born into the noble Paget family, Lord George served in the British Army with unwavering dedication and bravery. During the Crimean War, Lord George took part in the fateful event known as the Charge of the Light Brigade, an ill-fated cavalry charge against the Russian forces on 25 October 1854. Despite the disastrous outcome, Lord George's courage and leadership were commended, and he was decorated with several honors, including the Crimean Medal with two clasps and the Order of St. Vladimir. In this photograph, taken in 1877, Lord George's military career has come to a close, yet his legacy as a hero of the Crimean War endures.
