Largest Gasometer in the World - East Greenwich, London - built in 1888. Situated on the Greenwich peninsula, close to the site of the O2 Arena. The main tower pictured is no longer standing, but the earlier (albeit slightly smaller) tower (seen in the top right-hand corner) is still standing and is still the UKs largest extant gasometer. The road pictured is now the Southern approach to the Blackwall tunnel and none of the buildings shown survive. Date: circa 1930s
