This photograph, taken in the year 1902, showcases the breathtaking view of the iconic St. Patrick's Cathedral on the east side of Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York. Designed in the Gothic Revival style by James Renwick Jr., the construction of this architectural masterpiece began in 1858, but was halted due to the onset of the Civil War until work resumed in 1865. The cathedral, a national historic landmark, took a total of 20 years to complete, finally being finished in 1878.
