Jagannath, along with his siblings, Sister Subhadra and Brother Balabhadra, are considered the deities of the Gaudiya Vaishnavas, a prominent branch of Hinduism. The deities are believed to have originated from the ancient city of Mathura in northern India, but are now enshrined in the magnificent Jagannath Temple in Puri, located on the eastern coast of India. The Ratha Yatra, or Chariot Festival, is a significant religious event in the Hindu calendar, celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm by millions of devotees. The festival commemorates the annual journey of Lord Jagannath, Sister Subhadra, and Brother Balabhadra, who are believed to travel to their ancestral home in Gaya, Bihar, and then return to Puri.
