This charming vintage print depicts a delightful scene of a happy Victorian family engaged in a game of 'Happy Families,' a popular parlor pastime that was first devised in Britain by Mr. Jacques in 1861. The game, which involved collecting sets of illustrated cards representing different families, was a favorite among the upper and middle classes and provided an enjoyable way for families and friends to socialize and pass the time.
