EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph print showcases four of the most legendary Kentucky Thoroughbreds in American racing history: Diomed, Boston, Lexington, and Glencoe. Each horse represents a pivotal moment in the rich heritage of thoroughbred breeding and racing in the Bluegrass State. Diomed, the first horse depicted, was a champion racehorse in the late 19th century. Born in 1882, he won the prestigious Kentucky Derby in 1888 and went on to become a successful sire, passing on his exceptional racing abilities to future generations. Boston, the second horse, was a champion racehorse from the early 20th century. Born in 1904, he won the Kentucky Derby in 1905 and set a new record for the fastest time in the race's history. His legacy continues to inspire and influence modern thoroughbred breeding and racing. Lexington, the third horse, was born in 1752 and is considered one of the founding sires of the American thoroughbred industry. He was the first great racing and stud success in America, siring numerous champions and influencing the breeding of many more. His impact on thoroughbred racing and breeding is still felt today. Glencoe, the final horse in this esteemed lineup, was born in 1850 and is best known for his remarkable versatility as a racehorse and sire. He won numerous races during his racing career and went on to become a successful stud, siring many champions and influencing the breeding of some of the greatest thoroughbreds in history. This photograph print not only captures the majesty and grace of these four legendary Kentucky Thoroughbreds but also serves as a testament to the rich history and tradition of thoroughbred breeding and racing in America.
