The image, taken by Colonel David Sutherland during the mid-20th century, offers a breathtaking view of the southern aspect of this historic site. Krak des Chevaliers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most well-preserved and impressive fortifications from the Crusader period. Constructed between the 12th and 14th centuries, this architectural marvel boasts thick stone walls that have withstood the test of time, standing as a testament to the ingenuity and resilience of its creators.
