Agaricus rachodes, also known as the "curly-stalked agaric," is a distinctive fungus characterized by its curved, fan-shaped cap and bracket-like fruiting body. The cap is typically brown or reddish-brown, with a smooth, velvety surface, and the pores on the underside of the cap are small and round. The illustration is taken from "Illustrations of British Mycology," a seminal work by Anna Maria Hussey, first published in 1853.
