EDITORS COMMENTS

Created in the mid-18th century, this particular print was produced in 1928 using pen with wash on white paper. Tiepolo's artistic prowess extended beyond Italy, as he also left his mark in Germany and Spain. His exceptional talent earned him prestigious commissions to adorn churches and palaces with breathtaking frescoes. Additionally, Tiepolo held the esteemed position of President of the Academy of Padua. While widely recognized for his grandiose works, Tiepolo's versatility is evident through his etchings and oil paintings. Regarded as one of the most significant artists of his time, he captured both mythological subjects like Zephyr (the Greek god of the west wind) and Flora (the Roman goddess of flowers) as well as religious themes.
